frequency specific microcurrent

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) therapy is an exciting new development in electrotherapy from the USA and Canada. It is used extensively in these countries for a wide variety of conditions.  FSM began in the early 1900's before being passed over for newly discovered drugs such as penicillin and surgical methods. With newer understandings of how the body works this treatment method has been rediscovered. FSM has been used for musculo-skeletal conditions, fibromyalgia, scar tissue and even shingles!

There are a few studies available to show the effectiveness of Microcurrent treatment, e.g.

New to the South West, Lowbourne Osteopaths  are pleased to announce  that  Frequency Specific Microcurrent is now available at their clinic in Melksham.

FSM treatment involves passing a very small electric current (10-500 microamps) through the body - so small the patient doesn't feel it. The level of current is more coherent with the body's natural electrical impulses. The frequency of the electrical current is adjusted to resonate with specific tissues in the body. The current is conducted through either special graphite gloves, wet towels or electrode pads.

The treatment depends on the body's conductivity and so it is essential the patient is well hydrated. It is advisable to drink at least 1 -2 litres of water before treatment. Prior to treatment a full case history and examination is done and diagnosis discussed.  The benefits and cautions associated with FSM are fully explained before treatment is given.  There are few contraindications for example; pregnancy and those fitted with a pacemaker.

For more information on how FSM can benefit you please book in for a preliminary discussion by calling Lowbourne Osteopaths on 01225 704883. See also
